A Siphon Drainage Method for Consolidation of Soft Soil Foundation

نویسندگان

چکیده

The drainage consolidation method can reduce porosity to consolidate soft soils. In this study, a novel siphon is used as the lower groundwater level. Compared other methods, power-free, environmental-friendly, and highly efficient. Numerical simulations are conducted verify feasibility of on soil treatment. addition, effects permeability hole spacing its application efficiency have been studied. results show that: (a) accelerate by lowering level; (b) larger is, faster pore water pressure decreases; (c) Adopting 1 m hole-spacing in much more efficient than methods which 2 hole-spacing. proven effective foundation treatment field test Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province.

Settlements and Consolidation Rates under Embankments in a Soft Soil with Vertical Drains

In this paper, a study was carried out in order to estimate settlements and consolidation rates under embankments constructed on Moroccan soft soils.  Settlement measurements in several embankments in High Speed Railway project between two Moroccan cities, Tangier and Assilah,  were analyzed. The objective of this study is to estimate settlement values and settlement rates, with sufficient prec...

Foam consolidation and drainage.

A theoretical model of foam as a consolidating continuum is proposed. The general model is applied to foam in a gravity settler. It is predicted that liquid drainage from foam in a gravity settler begins with a slow drainage stage. Next, a stage with faster drainage occurs where the drainage rate doubles compared to the initial stage. The experiments conducted within the framework of this work ...
